Ahh, I remember them. They are those almost as nasty as black fly critters.
I live in Florida, and I swear I have experienced very few mosquitos, and NO black flies in my five years here. I do live in a semi rural area, and they are around, but just not around me. dAUg19.3 mentioned Vitamin B-1 as a way to make your skin less appealing to Mosquitos. B vitamin sups contain thiamine. I was told years ago that thiamine is the best way to combat the little buggers. They will still come around you, but only the most ravenous among them will attempt to take your blood. Just thiamine tabs is all you need. Give it about a week or so to ramp up enough to do the job....Gil __________________ |

Well when I use insect repellant I use Cutters with Deet. It works great. BUT they don't bother me underwater at all!!
If you use the DFX at the old swimming hole. Be EXTREMLY careful. Especially if you use it in the water. NEVER raise your coil above the box. I can assure you that water goes up that hollow tube and will FRY your DFX. I do know this from experience!! Welcome and have fun!! |
