Gridding the Gridiron

First let me say it’s great to have the site back! Thanks to Vlad and Carol for all their hard work.

Last week I started working my way up the local football field. I figured I’d grid out the entire thing since it lends itself to that sort of thing. I’ve been out there 3 times so far and it’s turning out to be a lot bigger project than I thought it would be. It’s taking almost half an hour to go from one side to the other and I’m only covering a few yards so it’s took me a good 6 hours to get to the 20 yard line. I don’t see finishing before football season starts.

Here’s what I have so far. The chain is a little better than ½ an ounce of 925. There are 3 junk rings two of which are wire, a few keys and a junk hart. No a lot of trash to speak of so it’s pretty easy going. I haven’t counted the clad yet.
