Default Deus Finds

Went out with two buddies from the club.

I found 5 Indians
1 Barber Dime 1904
1 V nickel 1883 or 1885 (I know 85 is the key date)
1 1787 Connecticut Copper (The front is toast)(The back is almost toast) But I got a date!

It was an 1850 House. So the Copper predates it by 63 years. Goes to show you never know until you dig it. The Deus was good today. I'm slowly working to the 1600's.

My one buddy found a 2 center. So some good coins were found.

That looks like a great hunt for ya! I got a little feel for the smoothness when going over a clear of debris coin yesterday evening. Learning the nuances of the Deus every time I run it. Great hunt and were you in a lot of trash? Some of the coins look like they were stained some.

The Barber was resting on top of an Indian. I like to find my coins two at a time.

The place is loaded with iron. Big iron, Small iron, all kinds. I went to zero discrimination mode for just a little. I really couldn't handle it. So I went with 4.5 discrimination. So I knew there was a ton of iron. I tried to up the reactivity to 3, but for some reason I was getting bad feedback with it that high. I think if you up the reactivity you need to up the silencer as well. I'll have to check up on that. So this was all reactivity two. Even Deus fast was too noisy. I was around power lines and a red light. It could handle reactivity three in th 18 Khz mode. But that frequency was not for here. It picks up too many small tiny tiny bits. There is always a trade off, but I found a happy medium. 8 Khz by the way.

Thanks to all. I will tell you that we worked hard on this hunt. It was humid in the morning. My wife said I never smelled so bad.

I got out with friends. I had some good exercise. I found my oldest coin yet. And I learned a little bit more about colonial coins researching the date. A great day doing a great hobby!
