Default The disappearing sites....

Google earth..... Note how this place just fades away as it's overgrown by the bush...First shot is from a year that there was a serious drought here, really helps structures stand out in the middle of nothing when the area around them are free of heavy vegetation....
Yes, i'm going to go check this place out this weekend, it's part of a larger ranch i hunt regularly....

That's amazing how fast they disappear. It looks like a promising place to at least scout out.

I've been going blind this week from so much computer work, lots of researching of old abandoned ranches and such...Lots of reading old records in spanish and trying to locate areas based on nearby landmarks or towns mentioned that i can still track down... One spot i'm after this weekend, not the one pictured above, was abandoned in the late 1700's after being populated for over 100 years...
I really enjoy the research end of it, but it's time to hit the dirt!

Many new ruins were found when google added satellite images. It might be a new discovery.

Question...

How were you able to get sequential photographs from google earth? I use the timeline for my area which goes back to 1944 but it then skips to 1978, so that's a large gap. And as you can imagine the growth had changed many times in that 34 years. I use google earth basic or whatever and have yet to find a place that stands out as good as yours!
