This is my all plastic (almost) sifter.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() PVC Pipe (Yellow) comes in 6 meter length - we had about 2 meters laying around. If I had to buy the 6 meter length - 80 baht. Each piece is 40 centimeters long. PVC elbows (Blue) - 4x15 baht - 60 baht. PVC glue - 15 baht. Plastic Mesh - 80 baht - 1 meter x 1/2 meter - I folded it in half and trimmed the rest. Cable Ties - 55 baht for pack of 100 (used less than half). Carabiner - had two from a trade show - free. Rope - wife bought 10 meters - I am using about 3 - total cost was 80 baht - so 30 baht worth of rope for me. Total cost - 320 baht for what I used counting the PVC pipe which was bought when we had our house built. Roughly $10 USD. All plastic except for the carabiners. I took it out today to a local reservoir and it worked fine except for the mud/clay/rocks are extremely thick so sifting it took a while and I had to break up the big blob into smaller blobs and kind of let it slowly dissipate as I walked around and hunted. Main thing is the folded double plastic mesh held. __________________ |

Well done, it looks like it will work for you, and you can even use your pinpointer to locate the small targets.

ive been looking for the plastic mesh for over 2 weeks and cant find it anywhere. I was given ideas of the restraunt dishwasher trays from one of the members on the forum, the only other I thought of was fiberglass grate and the only place i found that was china. where did you find your mesh? My last resort will be using a piece of lexan 1/4" and spending a few hours gridding it out and makeing my own holes...GL+HH.....cliff.

If you have a Garrett Pro Pointer just use the sheath and hang it off a hat or tie it around your neck hanging off like a pendant form a small rope, etc. should keep it out out of the water.
