Default The Bandido II uMax Strikes GOLD!!!

So I got my Bandido from Craigslist about 2 weeks ago. I finally got to really use it last week at the beach and found about $4 in clad. Now back from vacation and back to work I'm wanting to try out the Bandido here at home. I get off work this morning and decide to hit a park close by. I had hit this park before around the basketball court and it was a big coin producer but lots of trash to. I think i'm the first one to hit it with a Metal Detector. So I start at the corner of the court and start to swing and hear multiple targets, I make the flap and put the pinpointer in find a penny the move it around to find the other target and this is what I found. A 8 inch 14kt Gold bracelet!!!! Needless to say I did a little happy dance. I searched for about another hour and only made it half way down the edge of the court, pulling a lot of trash and some clad.

Attached are pictures of the rest of the haul, and another one of the bracelet. I figured I would find my first silver coin before gold, but I'm not complaining. May the Gold keep coming

I don't have a scale yet, but after I sell this piece I will buy a scale and a loupe.

I hope if you're going to sell it, you don't go to a pawn shop or jewlery store that says 'We buy gold' because you won't get near what it's really worth. Do some research, and don't be in a big hurry. There are plenty of posts on this forum about selling gold and it's all good advice. Good luck. : )

Very nice that is a sweet bracelet. Also in your signature you can use the bb code word "gold" instead of yellow and will make it easier to read. It is that way in mine.

I've seen the post "Where to part with your Gold" I just didn't know if they would take 1 small piece or if I would need to send in more. I know pawn shops want to give you 50% of what the melt value is so I will stay away from them. I'm going to do a some research and see what local places are paying. But I will give midwest and ARA a call also.

And Fledge Thanks for the Tip on the Sig.

Just to let you know, not only did you find one chunky hunk of gold, you found the equivelant of $473.60, cause that's what it's worth in melt value at today's gold price of $1598.10 per oz. If you mail it in to a refiner they will pay you 98% of that, or $464 and change. If you try to sell it as is, it's good to know where to start for pricing. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, you lucky dog! : )

Thanks Frankie. I feel very blessed in finding this. My budget has been tight and some unforeseen expenses have come up so this will help a lot. I'm going to contact ARA tomorrow and ship it to them.
