Default Some of my detecting ground

As you can see,its too long right now,but still have some left. That thing you can see in the hole is a very interesting thing. Its a button from the HMS VIctory, the ship Nelson was the admiral on,he died on the ship too.If you google it you can read up on the HMS Victory.

Smile Some of my detecting ground

Beautiful country. How in the world do you decide where to detect. It looks like it would be overwhelming. You could hunt that area a whole lifetime and never cover all of it. One thing about it, it doesn't look like you would be crowded out. Love seeing the unique things you come up with. Congrats.

Simon - very nice area! Question...Do you find that in areas that you have hunted before, after they're worked over from the farming, that they are "new" again and you find new stuff?

Yes Felix, your 100% right,,thats why i would never run out of detecting ground. The field i found that ring in.is a field that i had been over time and time again. Then the farmer ploughed it and brought it closer to the surface so every year is like starting a new field.

ForeverRich, what i do is reasearch first, get hold of old maps, use google earth to see if i can see any disturbances in the ground and then take it from there.Field walking is a must for me before i start a field,,you would be surprised to see what you can find just by walking with your head down. When i find what i call a hotspot,i slow right down and spend at least 2 weeks combing the area,,,seems to work for me.

Nice looking grounds to hunt Simon. It almost like you are in the twilight zone. You can never leave till its all hunted out, and things just keep getting turned up. Your doomed my friend to spend eternity there.
