Default Fisher F5

How many on this forum use a Fisher F5? I have been looking at this detector. Not to much information about these floating around. How does it compare to the AT-PRO? Not concerned that AT is water proof. I guess i'm loyal to Fisher... Still kicking the tires...Thanks

Your loyal to Fisher I'd get an F75 used or a T2 which isn't far from the price of an F5 if you do some looking. There's not a lot of people who use the F5 with most just going for an F2 on the lower end to the F75 on the high end.

My hunting buddy uses an F75 with boost mode and it's deeper than my Minelab etrac and has a lot of cool features.

Your going to be wanting an F75/T2 in a few months anyway so save yourself time and get one now or keep saving. The F2 is plenty machine for now. I liked my F2 when I had it.

I know exactly what your saying. I never expected this hobby to be this addicting. Now i have 2 expensive hobbies. Not sure if i want to go to the f75 right now, later maybe. My main hobby is amateur radio which i have a small fortune in. If i stick with MD'ing i am sure i can sell one piece of radio equipment that is not be used to cover the cost of the F75. But, right now i am not as committed to MD'ing as i am amateur radio. This is the reason i was looking at the mid priced Fisher detectors..

I have the F2 and F5, similar maching but I like the F2 for its lightness but then again the F5 has a lot of options for searching. I also like the F5 and its ability to discriminate,

It's a great coin and jewelry machine! Lots of adjustment. I have one with a 11" DD coil if you want to go that route.

Holler with questions or for a great deal! Bart
