At our wal-bob's they do not show the Energizer Charge 9 volt as being available in our store... but they had several at $10. Paid like $12 online.
About the 3rd time I charged mine one of the terminals came loose (small side) I was able to center it and tack it back on with my soldering iron. __________________ |

I got a few NiMH 350 mah batteries off ebay for less than one in radioshack. They have worked fine for two years now. I use an Energizer charger that can handle 9v, aa, aaa, c, and d cells that I picked up at Target for about $20. I imagine the name brand batteries come off the same assembly lines in China as the no name ones.

I picked up a pair of 9V Tenergy rechargeable here
http://http://www.batteryjunction.com/te9v25nihica.htm I use a charger that chages 8.4, 9.0 & 9.6 volt batteries from http://http://www.thomasdistributing.com/ I use the 9V in the Compadre and 9.6 V Maha Imedion in the Vaquero & now that Garrett says the 9.6V is OK in the pro pointer I use them there as well. Hope this helps HH __________________ Currently I dig everything, but, I have learned when not to.

I just started using the 9.6 V Maha Imedion in my F2 and Garrett Pointer.
They worked great. I bought the 4 bank charger. They came in charged at 10.30 volts. __________________ |

They have them at the Walmart here, I need at least 4 and the charger. I'm looking at about $60 maybe a bit more! I have 8 aaa, 24 aa, but no 9v and 9v charger. I am going to try Amazon.com and suggest you do too... GL & HH Pat

They've been working fine. The charger I have came with a car charger too...huh..imagine that? I see no difference in performance in my F2s or my Garrett pointer. I only bought 3 batteries (2 for the F2 and 1 for the GPP) and I still keep spares in my car just inn case. Im on about 8 hours detecting time without a drop in "bars"...so...they're holding up..time will tell though. __________________ |

I swapped all my kids wii controllers and metal detector, the pc mouse everything is getting rechargables around this place. Hate throwing away batteries. The initial investment was big but is going to pay for itself just with the metal detector.

KT has used rechargeable AA batts in his office equipment for several years...just used up the 3rd set of them...a set consists of 4 and 4...4 for in the camera and GPS and 4 on the charger/recharged.
But in his MDs and ProPointer, he uses non-rechargeables alkalines...buying them in bulk off ebay. 20 9v for cheap and 50 AA for cheap...also uses AA in personal digital camera, and electric motorcycle gloves. They are less harm for the environment than any of the nasty rechargeables and can go in a landfill whereas the rechargeable types need to be turned in to Radioshack for recycling. Some do and some don't, and KT does not now after several years of foolin with rechargeables. Only one He likes is the rechargeable one on His Royal Trac-Phone! ![]() ![]()

I just ordered my 9v and aaa's from here http://www.all-battery.com I like the Tenergy centura's as they are 200ma and low self discharge for $3.99 each.
I did lots of shopping and they were the best/cheapest including reasonable shipping for multiple item. Stay away from amazon and other "free shipping" places as the total price of the order is lost more. __________________ |

The best 9v rechargeable I've ever owned are "Ipower Lithium Polymer" batteries. They last forever in wireless microphones (what I do for a living) and even longer in a pro-pointer or other 9v device. The only downside is they are super expensive, and require a specific charger since they are lithium (think your laptop battery)

Anyone ever use the these Garrett rechargeables? For about $20 for 2 9v batteries and charger it seems like a ok deal... __________________ |

The 9.6 V Maha Imedion batterys work good. They end up at 11.3volts when done. But Im getting 8 hours or so on them before a charge is needed. And when they START to lose their charge...the die FAST. From full, to one bar, to DEAD in a few minutes. Twice now Ive had to use my spare batterries because they died so FAST. __________________ |
