Default finally broke down and bought one...

After spending way to much time in the heat, bent over a hole, trying to locate my find.....I opted to purchase a pro pointer. Hope it is worth the $.

Your hunts will never be the same, I promise. You will wonder how you ever lived without it.

Yeah, I would seriously just give up sometimes because I was in a park or public place, and I felt like I was lingering to long in a spot and or digging to China.

I can find things in less then 30 seconds that would have taken minutes of passing over clumps of dirt, its a wonder, if theyd made detectors as good and close and getting things as that we'd never even ask what detector to get, it would be "what do you want with you 'so and so'".

Its like the remote control of the land detector world

A good choice , you won't be sorry. It is a little overpriced but whenever you have a specialty tool for a relatively small number of people , you get to pay a premium. How much do you think it costs to build pinpointer? HF sells theirs for sixteen bucks and they still make a good profit ! I bet Garret is proud that their pinpointer is such a hit with all detector users .

Trust me, you'll see what the hype is all about, when it comes to the Garrett ProPointer!

I personally went the other way around and bought the GPP first and LOVED it VERY MUCH so!!! I too was like, this thing better "spit out" the GOLD for this price!!! I still have YET to find the "gold", but THAT is me. Anyways, "down the road", I bought the HF CenTech as a back-up. I had to use it one time because for some reason or another I forgot my GPP at my house and had to use the CenTech that was in my trunk instead. It works well for what it is, BUT NOTHING like the GPP. For one thing, the proximity feature (i.e. it slooowwwwly starts to vibrate and then gets faster and faster when the object touches it). This is VERY HELPFUL if the object is VERY small and is being masked by the soil/environment. Whereas the CenTech just "beeeeep" and you could be 3/4-1" away from the object and it STILL wouldn't be all that obvious on what the hell it is that you are trying to see/look for. Me personally, I have a hard time just giving up and, like a bulldog, "keep coming back everytime being pushed away". In other words, I WANT to find out W.T.? IS MAKING THIS THING BEEP??? Even though it is OBVIOUSLY NOT worth anything. That's just me though. Anyways, you'll like it overall. Is it worth $127 or so??? Probably NOT, but then again, other companies such as Tesoro, Fisher, Whites, etc should make something better if that is the case to compete... but they don't and choose not to. At least that I know of??? Until then, it is what it is. Apparently they don't want to. From my understanding the BH Pinpointer and Bullseye II are basically just as good as the CenTech when it comes down to it and the CenTech is much, MUCH CHEAPER!!! You can probably "beat up" on, for example, the BH pinpointer and/or Bullseye II a little more than the CenTech as it is NOT all that rugged of a pinpointer but as the saying goes, "you get what you paid for...". That is NOT ALWAYS the case, but usually does apply from time-to-time. Anyways, HH \_ to you...

In our Kansas soil a blackened clad dime could take forever to find in the dirt. With a Pro Pointer it takes about 20 seconds.

There must be more detectorists using the Garrett Pro-Pointer than any other.
A sound investment!

you will not regret it, it's the best money you ever spent. Just remember its an all metal detector & on coin size objects its only detects them about 2" away, large objects it will pickup up to 8" away. I know if it beeps in the hole the coin should be within the next 2-3",if I dig another 3" & no coin I know its probably something large & I stop digging. Good Luck.

And a quick scan on the surface can find what you needed without the plug or if its shallow cans you can pretty much get the shape of it before you start digging, and flipping it into your holster is kind of cool, just dont go to show it to a cop without telling them first or your propointer could be the death of you

Well, it arrived today. Love it, of course. I find myself digging everything now because I can find it so fast. Gold...here I come.
