I usually start out with a few old pieces of canslaw and a couple deep pop cans that I swear are silver.

That happens to me all the time!! I'll find a good coin within the first 5 minutes (which gets my hopes really high for the spot), and then I go for 2 more hours and find maybe one more wheat penny!!! Gotta hate when that happens!

Thanks guys. So me the missus and the girls went camping at a lake with a real active swimming area.

Got my first water find, '85 nickel. It was one of 8 nickels found ( think this is a actively hunted area by someone else ) with a few pennies a dime and a quarter. Most interesting find was 10 minutes into the sunbathing sand area. Found a childs copper ring with 3 hearts, that sure made my 6 year olds day

And I still have tomorrow to hunt Wo0t.

Oh and I was surprised by the water nickel. It had a purple tint to it instead of the classic crusty nickel look.
