Compadre and Bandido

Im not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes. I have had a Compadre for about a year now and I just scored an original Bandido at a yard sale for $50. How do these detectors compare, which will go deeper? Also I am having trouble learning how to get the discriminator to work correctly. I have been using the Compadre but in some areas I want a bigger coil so I get out the Bandido. I set the disc on the Bandido so that it will pickup my wedding ring loud and clear, I set the Compadre the same. With this setting the Bandido still picks up a lot of iron well enough that I end up digging it. Any tips on the setup and use of the Bandido would be nice. I plan on selling this detector anyway but I would like to give it some use before it goes.
