I'm presuming it says 'Our Army and Navy' - all the image searches that I've done that feature this design seem to have that on the reverse. She's so toasted I can barely see more than the outside of the wreath pattern. Too bad - it's night and day from one side to the other. I dunked her in hot peroxide about 8 times and made some progress, but I don't think I'll be able to get a whole lot more out of it.
Does anyone know what exactly it is that causes such a drastic difference in corrosion? I've pulled quite a few coins with a similar condition - face up=fine and face down= corroded mess. Either way, I'll take a find like this any way that I can get it!

I wonder if the sun dies out the soil on top side first, bottom (down) side holds the corrosive moisture longer. Just a guess. I have noticed the same thing with some coins. Especially Indian Heads.
