Default homemade detector

A friend of mine has a dowsing detector which cost $2200.00 some time ago.
It works well for him and myself. All it consist of is a oscillator, freq. counter and inverter for the power supply. I put together another oscillator freq counter
combo. It works also though not a sensitive as his. Im still working on it but for now I can find my gold watch with it and with the oscillator turned off I get no indication as when it is on. Its really weired how ir works, hard to beleive.

Hi, Welcome to the forum. This venue is great because it allows us post videos. Maybe you could give us some visual representation of what you are doing.

First off it sounds like a BFO rig. Its not very good compared to modern designs and the only way I can think of why you'res isn't detecting with full power is that the detection oscillator circuit is poorly tuned and that the reference oscillator is tuned to a similar frequency as something that is electrically noisy. I may be completely wrong though.
