Default wedding ring found

Was out for a bit before the rain hit today. Was in a park and some houses butted up against the open area where I was hunting. An older woman came out of one of the houses and I started bracing myself for an assualt on the evils of MDing in a park.
Turns out her husband lost his wedding ring last weekend and she was hoping I could look for it.
She and her husband had already hand sorted through the mulch and eyeballed looking for it and he had been depressed ever since he lost it and was spending a couple of hours a day trying to find it.
He was mulching and weeding and when he was done, he noticed his ring was missing. Long story short found it in an area of mulch that they said they spent over an hour looking through. Offered me $50.00, but I settled on a cup of coffee and a chance to warm up and some fun conversation. Wish I had a camera as the look on their faces when it was found was priceless. The guy literally had tears in his eyes when I gave it to him. Nice couple in their late 60's married for 45 years. Just didn't feel right taking money.

Great job! Hey, Karma has a way of coming around. Maybe they know someone with some old land they may introduce you to. That would be sweet.

Really feels good helping people get something back that they were sure was gone forever doesn't it? Lots of good karma coming your way.

Maybe it is odd, but I wait for that opportunity. Neighbors surely think I am wierd swinging the detector in my hunted out yard, so it would be gratifying to get a plea for help, and get to do what you did. martin

@nwohio,

That was a very honorable act. Married for 45 years? That is true love.

If I ever cross paths with you, Coffee is on me.

Well done!

Fantastic! You got to do something that will grant you karma; and you could probably hear some awesome stories about places to hunt you did not know about!
