If I was closer I would use this as an excuse to hit the beach. Lostmystuff will help.

I'm going there on the 20th of May on my honeymoon and I'm taking the metal detector with me. If you could give me a fairly specific distance north of the pier I will be glad to take a look for ya. How far out in the surf were you when you noticed it lost? Was it high tide or low tide?

Honeymoon + metal detector could = early marital problems

I frequent Tybee several times a year overlooking the beach in the area you are describing , The beach is hevvly MD , I have observed at least 3 people ( always the same ) working the beach area, They seem to be there in the AM on Sat and SUn and always monday AM , You might want to see if you can catch them one day ---If that doesnt work Try the lifeguards , who should be back on duty on memorial day, maybe they can get the guys info and pass it along to you or visa versa
