Default The harbor freight tumblers are great!

After my diy tumbler I needed to pick up the HF tumbler and see what all the hyle was about and it didn't disappoint.

Put in fish rocks and a tbs of dawn as recommended by members here. The clad silver was black and nasty and the pennies were so covered in muck and crusted but now.they are like new.

The single was out of stock so i got the duel and with the amount of clad I find the duel is great.

I should give the tumblers a try. I put several gnarly zincolns in vinegar and then promptly FORGOT about them for four days. Two of them were nearly completely disolved by the time I rescued them!

I think I am going to pull the trigger on the dual rock tumbler from Harbor Freight. Anyone ever ordered it online? My local store is out of both and they do not know when they may get more.

I haven't got mine shipped to me yet, but from what the reviews say, they do as well as the Lortones. Problem is the belt - it breaks easily so don't over load it (nothing more than 2.5 ea drum). They have replacement belts for sale but you could just get rubber bands and they work alright too.

Just use aquarium gravel and a drop of dish soap water just covering gravel. Leave plenty of air space for the gravel to work. Adding vinegar or other stuff just causes problems. If the pennies do not clean up after that throw them away.

Checked back at my local Harbor Freight today and they did not have the smaller one, however they had the dual one on sale for $49.99 so I picked one up. I am cleaning some coins now, so far so good.

I completely forgot that there is a HF store about 30 miles from me. I think I will pay them a visit.

I bought the double, it was on sale for $49.99. I do my pennies on one side and the silver on the other and it is amazing how clean it gets the coins. I use aquarium gravel, water and dish soap and man does it clean em up. If I ever get lucky and find something old I won't put that in the tumbler, but for all of the modern stuff if works like a charm. Well worth the money.

I finally buckled and bought one today. Went to my local Harbor Freight and grabbed the single on sale for $27.99. Haven't gotten the gravel for it yet. The clad is piling up in my mason jar,so I figured I would clean it before turning it in. Trying to save up for a Compadre solely from found clad, and my daily change box. I think of it as a fun goal to achieve.

Got mine 2 years ago on line. I use it after every hunt (about once a week) for all my finds. Except silver! Works great. Came with extra belts that I have not used yet. I got the dual tumbler.
