Default Detech 13" ultimate coil waterproof?

Does anybody know if this coil is indeed waterproof and safe to use in shallow water?

I've inquired at Detech with no response and Kellyco had no idea.

Thanks!

HH

I know a few people that are using the 13 inch Detech Ultimate in the water with no problem at all.

What I do is seal up the coil wire at the entrance of the coil with shoe goo. Seals the connection up just in case. So far mine has done well in the fresh water. Looking forward to seeing how well it will do in salt water this winter in Florida.

While it is not rated as waterproof, it is usable in the water. The white color really shows up well submerged. But it is a bear to keep clean. I found that if I use Awesome, a product sold at the Dollar stores, it cleans up pretty easy and gets it as clean as new.

I would think that people selling the coil could answer questions about it. They want the American market all to themselves they should do a little homework. It isn't like the coil costs a couple hundred hard earned dollars. Hey wait a minute!

But on the other hand. Who in their right mind makes a coil that isn't waterproof in today's market? JUNK!

For the price of the coil I should not have to do a darn thing to it.

Ive been using the ultimate 13 on my etrac for last two months...
Just recently it started freaking out when it would get wet...!
Would be forced to leave the wet up to the dry to calm her down
.then when i would go back down...same thing..!
I did not do my research first and assumed the coil would be fine in the water just like most are for that price!
I guess im going to unscrew cap and clean out with a air hose...then shoe goo it up and see what happens...!

!
