Default hi yall new to the forum

I just purchased my first detector about 1 month ago.....dirt fishing is like a serious addiction now, lol!!!!
My first all day hunt was yesterday(skipped work).I started off at a ghost town called fivay.I recovered a "Reed & barton" silver plated ladle dated 1915,a very rusty railroad spike, and a 10 pound brass gear pulley in perfect condition(that was fun toting out of a swamp )
I moved to a 1930's era homesite and recovered my 1st,2nd,and 3rd ever wheaties....all from the same hole!!!!!!!!!!!,i finished off my great day with a ornate coat button with a heraldy symbol on in so cooool!!
moving to middle tennessee in 1 week cant wait to hit it hard up there, whoohoo!!!! i love this hobby!!!!!

Welcome to the greatest forum on the net.... I wish I could find a hunk of brass like that... at current scrap price of $1.50 a lb. you made more money from that then you'll find in a months worth of clad finds lol.

Cool A good catch

Welcome aboard... sounds like you did well for a day of dirt fishing... someone made the comment last summer that there's no such thing as one penny! While I have found many single pennies... I have also learned that where's one penny VERY often there are more in the same hole or within six inches.

The ten pound gear pulley sounds cool... I found an anvil once... but thankfully it was on my own property and I only had to lug it ten feet to the out building...
