Default Junk Bin Score....Japanese Silver

Another score from the coin shop junk bin. I know it's Japanese Silver.






But what is it worth??????????????????????

Nice find coin shop up the street has two bins full of foreign coins for 10 cents each I'll have to look for silver.

Nice condition, it's a 1924 50 Sen coin, year 13 of the Taisho era.
There are a lot of fakes around, it should be close to 4.95g fakes are a lot lighter.

I weighed it. I got 4.86 grams. I don't see alot of wear. Sounds good when I drop it on the table. Don't really want to acid test it.

Looks like you got the real deal Rob, the fakes I saw were around a gram under weight. Great!!! score my friend. Still trying to find my first one of those in Japan.

Nice score! Every time i go into my local coin shop i look at their foreign "junk" coins. I have picked out some really nice coins.

next time i might ask what they will take for the whole box

Melt value is around $3.70. I think for any higher value it'd have to be unc state.

KT really likes the coin and the sun emblem is so diagnostic of Pre-WWII Japan! Just a great find!
