Explorer Xs?? worth the trade??

I have garrett ace 150 pro and 250$, thinking about trading it for a mine lab xs with few accesories, no pinpointer ....Question is, is it really worth it? i hunt on the beach alot and think this will be a wonderful upgrade for beach...also, how can i actually tell the explorer xs is in good working order?? Im new to detecting but have done alot of research and have atlast 40 hours working on the ace 150 pro...i just dont want to buy a broken metal detector, i hear the explorer xs is a little complicated...i dont want to test it and it seems like its working bc its complicated lol PLEASE any help would be great!!
