Missed Opportunity

I now look back and realize the great opportunity I had when I lived in Oklahoma. I was a NCO instructor at the Fort Sill NCO Academy. During that time I lived in the area in these photos. This is now known as Camp Eagle, a training facility for the NCO Academy. I lived in the house, that is anotated by the black square. This area is very old and used to be known as Craterville Park, until it was purchased by the government in the 1940s and made part of Fort Sill. When it was a park, it had a merry-go-round and miniture golf course. All that is long gone. I could have found all kinds of goodies. I miss being there. When the troops weren't there for training it was very quite and peaceful. The wife and I used to hike the trails and hills surrounding the camp. Too bad I didn't have the detecting bug back then.

Yep, we all have places in our past that we'd love to get back to now that we are MDers. Just make the most of the opprotunities we have available to us now so we don't have regrets in the future. : ) Good luck with your digs.
