Default Help me Decide, Cibola or Cortes

Hello Friends,
I am just about ready to add to my Detector collection. I have been very happy with my Tesoro compadre and had made up my mind to get a Tesoro Cibola. Checking out the local adds I came across a Cortes locally that is a year old and in excellent shape for just about the same money as the Cibola new. I was hoping that some of you folks more familiar with these machine could give me some insight on which one to get. Thank you in advance for your thoughts

First thing to ask is where are you located? The Tesoro TID machines do not do very well in most areas west of the Rockies.

Ok so both machines will be fine. You can stack the two side by site in our comparison tool: www.hollandsbrook.com/compare

What type of hunting are you looking to do? One thing to keep in mind is that used Tesoros don't come with their lifetime warranty.

If your mostly beach hunting then the Cibola is the way to go.

I'd probably swing that Compadre a little longer and wait and get a Vaquero.

You should be able to find enough coins with your Compadre to pay for any upgrade.

I bought a new Cibola, and I love it...but not all the time....

...the beach where I hunt has a lot of black sand in places, where the ground balance of the Vaquero would REALLY come in handy!

Isn't the Cortes a pretty similiar machine to the Vaquero?

It's a DeLeon with GB.

Cibola- No manual GB or display

Cortes- Has both

So I guess it depends on where/how you hunt, and how much you want to spend. Getting a used Cortes for new Cibola price doesn't seem like a bad deal (depending on it's condition).
