Alright, so it looks like I'm 5 years late on this thread, but I did not see my all-time favorite MDing slang word ...

beavertail - the old time, triangular-shaped pull tabs that were actually pulled off of the can when opened.

PI? (Not Private Investigator, either...)

I read every page here and didn't see it.... Which leads to this:

How about updating the list in post 1?

Didn't see this simple one.

Plug...
The chunk of (mostly) grass on the surface that you cut out and search the dirt underneath, (and the plug it's self) to find the target, once you recover said target, you push the dirt back into the hole and REPLACE THE PLUG, so nobody knows you were there...

[Unless it's the dry season an the plugs die...in which case the next day the nice green yard had a lotta brown polk-a-dots ]

neil

A new term suggested by one of the Forum members....a Chucker = a Chucky Cheese token. I like it!

Default Don't forget 'BLOBS'....

Those annoying chunks of melted aluminum that glob together and give a nice big silver signal! I'm assuming they are from drink cans being thrown into camp fires. I find them all over the place when outdoor grills are in the parks.

CRH is an acronym that stands for "coin roll hunting". Searching coin rolls looking for silver coins. It has nothing to do with Metal Detecting.

Hi Rudy,Thanks for informing me about CRH acronym. I already knew that CRH stands for coin roll hunting before you told me about the CRH. Thanks anyway for your big help! Thanks,James

From one of the newbies -Thanks!

Question though- Is "clad" typically understood to be coinage worth around face value? ...or is some of it collectible?

I'm a relic hunter & know alot of relic hunters. Most of the time we relic hunt where we find relics. Most of the time it's in fields but we hunt woods to if there is relics there. We hunt for relic in towns & back yards or just any where people have been a long time ago.

freestyling - knocking on doors, driving around, hunting immediately after getting permission.
