Default Cupajo inspired me...

I just took a peek at CJ's finds and figured what the heck I'll post mine

here in Connecticut we have had almost no storms like we do during the fall and winter to mix up the beaches... all our beaches and my personal spots are sanded in.. where I found all that gold last winter has at least 3 feet of sand on top of the spot filled with lightweight canslaw and ketchup packages.. I haven't hunted it all winter... where I found the gold last week is quiet now so I tried a different spot.. I hunted some spots where I saw some erosion but for the most part its still too soft to find the older deeper good stuff...

If there isn't gold in the finds is bleak.. silver doesn't do anything for me

Call me spoiled I don't care but I'm not after silver...

The bracelet is gold plated junk..

So these are my GT finds for yesterday...

I met Louct there and he pulled 12 cents with his DFX.

At least most of the pull tabs are the old style Now if some sand would move, you could to get to the old style rings.

Cupajo, an inspiration!?

I've been called a lot of things Craig, but this is a first!1

As I remember you once posted that we Hunters should show both sides of this hobby, the day to day kinds of results and the OMG, eye popping bling too.

This portrays a more accurate version of the hobby than only posting your Gold, Etc. so that inexperienced hunter get a good look at metal detecting.

You have quite a pile there my Friend and I salute you as one Hunter who really gets it done!!!

GL&HH My Friend,

CJ

Yup, beach hunting is not all wine and roses. Gone are the days that we would come home with a hand full of gold.......the price of gold and the economy has a lot to do with that. I have not beach hunted hardly at all this winter due to illness, but I am certainly looking forward to it when I am in FL this spring. My hubby has been dirt digging which has been more productive.

"silver doesn't do anything for me"
I understand what you mean Craig but I won't go quite that far. There's nothing like seeing a big gold ring in the scoop but a big beautiful silver ring or silver with a "Tiffany & Co." stamp is quite acceptable.
I do sometimes feel like what some former olympic athlete said: "You don't win silver, you lose gold." Call me spoiled I guess. HH!

My machine has been out of commission for the past month (turns out it was the headphones.. picking up a waterproof pair today.), but my last 10-15 hunts before it crapped out were all skunks... so I know how you feel.

I think alot of us should get used to these skunk days

The only way I can post a decent amount of gold is if I find some new old spots... I'm working on 3 right now through research... I hope to hunt them very soon with the GT to see what they hold and if I don't get too many nulls I'll going in with the pulse.

My last 4 hunts were very uninspiring to say the least. On my first three hunts on this beach this year I found a gold ring each time but the last 4 were old scrap metal, deep sinkers and crusty modern clad. The sad part is this beach has not changed at all and I keep finding old stuff so I know there is more gold there,I just haven't been able to get the coil over any! Hopefully this Sunday will be warm enuf for me to try and end the no gold streak. HH!

I keep telling myself that it's just as much effort to dig up gold as junk metal so why do we insist on digging up junk and wasting all that time!!

"Junk collecting" is the only way I know to find the gold in the water!!

GL&HH Friends,

CJ

Interesting finds Craig. Fine hunt, gold or not. At least nobody was around to harass you today.

In a way it's good to see I'm not the only one having trouble finding the heavy stuff Craig almost given up on water hunting at the moment too much sand and replenishment happening around my way. Might send my DF in for it's yearly check up

Yep, GT first then bring in the big guns! Most of us are sucking at finding good targets right now. Seems with so many hunters out there they have vacuumed up any targets within coil range. Coins and silver do not do it for me either but the way things are now I would take them! By the low amount of posts it is clear almost all of us need summer to get here or a huge storm to move sand.

We should be pushing vipers instead of good machines

I'm sitting here at 4:17 waiting for snow.. I think I jinxed myself buying a thousand pounds of salt yesterday by listening to forecasters who almost never get it right

I think I will go hit PI JOE's home beach next week
