This is loosely related to metal detecting but I still didn't know which section to post in so mods please move to wherever you see fit...
Not too long ago I had found a thin 14K engagement ring. It was very light so not worth a huge amount, especially with gold prices dropping as of late. A few weeks back I had seen a very nice looking 1897 Morgan dollar at my local pawn shop. I hadn't stopped thinking about it but didn't have the $40 asking price. Then it dawned on me that I dug up that small gold ring. I traded the ring for the coin and now I'm much happier ![]() Almost all of the other Morgans they had were in very worn and rough condition and looked as though they had been heavily cleaned (not properly either). This one has pretty good details and a nice vintage patina which I like very much. |

One of the prettiest coins ever made in my opinion.

The #1 goal I have since I started detecting is to find a Morgan. Beautiful coin you have there.
Congrats!
