Found this today,not to sure what it is yet.





Its an Elizabeth 1st Half Groat 1580,s

Steve,this time of the year over here is very quiet because the grass is to long and the farmers crops are all too long so we cant get on to the ground.

Default Uffington Horse

Simon,

Nice coin, certain you must have ab fab finds around Wiltshire. Two years ago I was up around Uffington, you guessed it, taking a look at the horse. Are those areas off limits to MDing? Any Roman or Norman finds?

FYI, a few years back I did lots of antiquing around Wantage, can't recall the name of the old store that was my favorite. Love the UK but your British sterling has gotten out of hand for us Americans.

those areas are out of bounds im afraid.Was just reading in a news paper today that someone has painted a giant Homer Simpson next to the horse (during the night).They didnt damage the horse but all the archeologists are up in arms over it,,,,,,it does look funny tho,the giant ancient horse with Homer standing in his undershorts next to it
