Hi all,
I picked up this nice Kennedy half at the bank today. What struck me as odd was the gold coating on it. It was faded on the front though. It is a 1972-D but tinks like silver on the desk. I can't see a clad line on the edges either. Also, it has the sheen of a proof or previously uncirculated coin. Could someone half given up a collector coin. Could it have been struck in silver as a commemorative? If any one has come across something like this before let me know. You can see the gold color has worn off here: __________________ |
