Default Got a 32ga Shotshell Head!!!

Okay, this may not be an eye popping or mind blowing find to most of you, but it absolutely blew me away! I found it in a box of headstamps that I found in my mailbox today!

Doug

What it looks like in non-dug condition.

Here you go. That is a Wheatie it is sitting on with a .410 head sitting next to it.

I think the bigger the number is the smaller the shell is. For shotgun shells anyway. I saw an 8 gauge shell at a customers house I was in. that thing was huge.

It's a Winchester round. This gauge was used some in the USA, but was/is much more popular in Europe.

It sure cleaned up well. Has it been fired? I mean I see no hammer strike on the primer... I would see the 14 and think 14g. Is that 14mm?

EDIT: I mistook the example as the cleaned up shell.

The first I've ever heard of 32ga. Very interesting!

Yes, Diggler, the 14 stands for 14mm. The m/m shows up a bit better now.

I was glad you said box because I sent you an envelope. I'd hate to think I sent you an extremely rare and valuable headstamp without asking a finders fee!
Seriously though, that's a pretty cool headstamp. Nice acquisition to add to your collection Doug!

Straight up, if someone sends me something rare or valuable and they want it back, it's theirs. No questions asked and no hard feelings. That goes for everyone who sends me brass for my database. NOTHING ever given to me leaves my collection.

Doug
