Probably makers mark, THGE means its electroplated.

Thanks. I knew it was plated, just thought the symbol may be a clue to what the base metal is.

sounds like a Jewelers Mark (also called a silver mark or makers mark). They are unique to each Jeweler. Doing a little research it sounds like Uncas Manufacturing Company. They are a larger company that uses a U with an arrow through it for their mark.
