Default First silver wilth my son

I had just got home from work friday (9-10-11), soon as I walked in the house my 8yr old son meet me with my detecting bag and said "Pleeeeeeeeease". We had somewhere to be in an hour so I told him we could go to aspot close by for 20min max.

We hit an iffy dime signal at 5" so we dug it, about 4" down I puled a small piece of what I think is aluminum fence. I rescan the hole and am getting a strong dime signal now, my son asks if he can dig the rest so I let him.

About 2" deeper and he flips a handfull of dirt over and we immediatly see a shiny round object. At the same time we both say "oh my God".Laying there staring at us is a beutiful 1941 merc. It was both mine and his first silver, It is one of the best memories I have with him and Its a day I will NEVER forget.
We were still on cloud 9 when we went to bed.

Very cool, I hope my daughter wants to detect with me when she gets old enough.

That field is huge, I'm sure there are more silver coins there for you guys!

Garrett 250 can do watch for EMI, you don't need a double D and I'm going to buy another one of those soon to lend out since My father in law has my first one. That's a great find and a fantastic machine for the money! You guys have a pinpointer yet?

That is SUPER AWESOME! To share a moment like that with your son is exemplary. He will cherish that memory of him and his dad and the silver coin forever.

WTG!
