with all the luck i'm having m/ding i think i need to go buy some lottery tickets.
decided to go dig up the front yard and, you guessed it, another great find. this time it was under a very large magnolia tree beside the house. the roots of this tree are as thick as spaghetti and big. started out with the trowel but finally went and got the sharp shooter to cut the roots. big mistake.

Yes he could--Do you have a Indian(Native American) crafter near you ? If you do you might be able to work a trade for him or her repair it

why do i have the feeling that i would never see that ring again because it's taking you longer than you thought to fix it?

You can fix that band yourself very easily. Buy some "low temp " silver solder. Drop a drop of flux that comes with it on the break (inside the band) and put a very small piece of solder on the break and use a propane torch , low flame, to melt it. The solder will run across the break and make it one piece. Make sure the 2 broken ends are touching each other before starting. All inexpensive, I have done this probably a hundred times. If you used too much solder then sand or file it down till it looks good. steve in so az

Neat lookin' ring though.
You shouldn't have too much trouble getting it repaired. Stinks about the breakage. Tough decision for tool of choice with those conditions. Nice find. __________________ |

Nice ring. It don't look that bad, and it can be fixed real easy. I like Steve's idea.
