I think I have narrowed my search down to one of these 3. I really like the MXT or M6 mostly because they seem very well made and have the features I want, I seem to hear great things about those models and White's in general. The AT Pro seems like it would be awesome and even is waterproof......but I am concerned with the issues some have been having that I would be better off with a white's and a model that has been out longer. I am gonna use the detector for coin, jewelry, relic on land. Only water I will be near is occasional freshwater beach and very rarely like once a year when I go to the beach will it be around salt water. I would like to be able to search wet sand but I don't need to be in the water. I just want a great, reliable, proven detector that I will be able to grow into and not regret or have problems with and also not grow out of in a year or two. Please help. I have another post that is similar to this but now I have it narrowed down to most likely one of these detectors.
Thank you, Chris |

Splish splash I was taken a bath, an AT PRO fell in and that did it in...
In all seriousness, I like the MXT, but I would try the Teosor Tejon. |

All good choices! MXT Pro is the highest end on your list and will really allow you to do all types of detecting. It has the tone mode just like the M6 does.
The M6 is a great machine because it is basically turn on and go. Very simple to use and the 7 tones allow you to hunt much quicker and pick through targets easier. The AT Pro is of course waterproof and opens up a new door the other two really don't. I hear it is great on land or in the water. It does sound like some kinks could be worked out for better performance but overall, it is the best detector for the lowest price. It has several modes that can really help in those tough to detect areas as well. I did test all three detectors on some gold rings and chains and let me tell you... the AT Pro identified them much better than the White's machines. Food for thought...

I had an mxt the regular one and now have an at pro and I really enjoy it.
As for performance I don't know where anyone sees the at pro is lacking in that area I sure haven't seen it nor have I had any problems with mine. I haven't been swimming with it yet but I'm not worried if something should go wrong I'm sure Garrett will take care of it. Don't get me wrong the mxt is a fine detector and I enjoyed it and wouldn't have got rid of it but with a bum shoulder I had to take a break every few mins so I started searching for something else. I really can't say one is any better than the other it's all a matter of needs or preference like for me I needed lighter and I do like not having to worry if a rain shower comes up but either one will get the job done. |

You can never go wrong with a whites detector. They are like tanks. I would go with the MXT , if n ot hte M6.
