GP 3000: I bought this piece of trash about 2 years ago. On making the purchase, thought It best I get a testing yard ready so's to help me identify different metals as well as their ringing tones. So I set about burying a gold kruger rand, purchased whilst on safari in africa, along with a couple of other gold items in one spot. About 5 meters away I bury silver then brass, copper etc. Each metal is buried separately 5 meters apart. I know you're all saying a bad worker always blames his tools but, this hoax of a machine seems to send out the same HAPPY signal for all metal types REGARDLESS OF SETTINGS- (I'm buggered from all the digging) and in desperately need of figuring out how to distinguish differences.
Anyone out there able to shed some light on where I'm going wrong

Could be a single tone machine? If so then you're basically gonna hear the same thing no matter the type of metal you go over.
