Default 14K White Gold diamond Ring/1892 V nickel !

This ring was among one of the FIRST things I ever found....in a rocky area. I scanned over the rocks and it gave me a silver signal using my bounty hunter 202. Later on I put the ring under the detector and it read as IRON/FOIL/GOLD...Maybe a dime or something was under it...I had discriminate mode on high. Weird.. It was right under the surface and boom right there I saw a bright shining diamond. I just knew the band had to be somewhere. It was about 3 inches away, really beat up. I took it to a jeweler and it cost me $60 to repair it. Wish I had photos of the before. But here it is in repaired condition. They appraised it for free since my brother works in the store. $900!!! What a find huh?

Then I found this 1892 V nickel behind the RV in my back yard. I've found tons of late 19th century objects but this is the best by far! I'm not sure how to safely clean the nickel. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

NICE...I am still awaiting my first official gold...I know it will come to me someday...I have not been on lately...performing extra duty for an upcoming deployment with the ORARNG. Anyway...this weekend my wife and I are heading to Wallowa Lake, Oregon and I can only metal detect from Oct. 1 to April 30. Once again...Nice finds...

Thanks . The gold ring I found on my third day hunting since I started this month. Pure luck. I'm completely addicted to this now even moreso than gaming! I used to play FPS games all the time but I spend more time detecting than anything. I'm actually glad I'm not employed atm. My detector only cost me $70..It's really starting to pay off.

I can't wait to get my pro pointer...Should be here today or tomorrow! Then I dig all that IRON/foil/gold. I get so many iron and other low toned signals I fear that I have multiple targets and the 10 inch coil just won't cut it for that. My technique for multiple targets lately has been to cut out a nice slice of earth about 4 inches thick and then lay down my detector with it on. I will then break off pieces of the earth I cut out and swing it in front of the detector. If a piece of earth beeps then I continue to break in half to narrow down where the little guy is. Been working but it can take a while breaking up the deep rooted grassy earth.
