XL Pro 10 turn pot for disc control mod

Hi everyone. I have a Whites XL Pro. I would like to replace the potentiometer for the discrimination control with a 10 turn like this one, or at least one that will fit with the right value.

It would make it easier to ground balance in TR DISC mode and also allow for more precise discrimination adjustments.

If I can use one with the numerical dial, it would take the guess work out of setting the discriminator.

Those of you who have these machines know what I am talking about when I say that the slightest adjustment can make the difference of discriminating out a nickel or not. Also, the better the ground balance, the better the depth!

Before I disassemble it, I wanted to ask if anyone has a junk unit they have disassembled or pictures of it on the board, showing it's clearance and orientation.

The reason for this is size, the new pot may not fit, or it may just go right in.

I also need to know the valure, if it is 5K,10K,50K etc.

You may have to take a meter reading to find out the values of the parts. If you can see the colors on the parts look up code for the parts. Make a pattern of the switch and placement of parts and wires, before you take it apart. Good luck. :-)
