Smile First 2 short hunts with CTX..5 silver and more

I got out with the Ctx last weekend for a short hunt on the curb strips. The first keeper of the day came with a Delphos Brewery Token. I know it was before 1919 due to the Steinle company taking the word "Brewery" out of it's name because of the looming prohibition. The only other keeper I got from the hunt was a nice 12/46 signal that netted me a 1953 rosie.

Yesterday I got out after class to hit a farmhouse before I went home. I was granted permission and got to work. First keeper was a 12/13-14 that ended up being a 1908 V Nickel. Next up was a 1946 Rosie that I nearly cut the date off of . It came in at 12/44-45. A few minutes later I got another rosie, a 1947. It was a 12/44-46. What impressed me next was the 1920 buffalo that I found. It was giving a terrible signal in my modified coin mode, nearly completely masked with iron. I switched over to combined mode 5 conductive sounds and it was screaming at me both directions. I was ready to head out and started walking to my car and I hit back to back Mercury dimes (1938, 1942S), and both were reading 12/45 at 8". I'm still working on my programs but what I have so far is doing some great work.

The pinpointing on this is a wee bit different compared to my Explorer and I'm blaming that learning curve on the rosie and token that I whacked with my digger

Looks like a great day to me! And I know the feeling about pinpointing, I myself am learning a new coil and sometimes I'm wayyyy off even though I think I'm spot on, haha. I had to dig a hole the size of a watermelon (literally) to get a Barber Quarter! I'm close to saying that I'm finally mastering it now though.

I've done exactlly that a couple of times. It's just gonna take me some time just like my old machine to make sure I don't smoke anymore coins.
