Newbie here?
Just received my new DFX two days ago and one of the accessories I bought with it was the Razor Edge Gator Digger. It does a nice job of cutting into the ground but doesn?t hold much dirt and it takes a while to empty the hole and find the target. Is there a durable trowel or scooping tool that removes the dirt faster? |

Tony at TCMetalDetectors has a concave digger that is about $10. Has a heavy concave blade and serrated edge with rubber grip. Just sharpen the front edge a little more. I got two of them as "freebies" with detector purchases, and use them a lot. I also have a "Lesche" digger, which is great for cutting thru the dirt, but mediocre at removing the soil if its dry. The scoop I mentioned gets used most of the time by far, and I haven't destroyed it yet. For bigger holes, I use a Predator Tools (Lesche) "Mauler". This is used in farm fields, woods, and other less people sensitive sites. It will cut / hack / pry almost anything.
