Can anyone help identify this? Found in NH. Thanks, any help appreciated.

Looks like a bullet from early black powder cartridges. A large number of these were introduced in 1870's so without any accurate measurements and some closeup pics it is hard to make guesses.

Is it made of lead? It sure looks like a pretty heavy grain bullet.

Looks like it could be Government 45-70 or similar.

i've found quite a few of those in the park across the street. It's been a well used park since 1920. Figured people hunted there back in the 1800's when the other side of town was populated and this was all farmland/woods....
never thought to get an id on them. Nice to see some info on them. __________________ |
