Finds from the road so far

I'm on my way to Alaska! My mother ( I'm 15) got a position at a flight service station in Alaska and we are driving up from Texas. We of course brought our metal detectors and bought gold pans for when we do arrive in Alaska. We have been on the road for 5 days and are in Montana. We have gone through Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone, and will be going through Glacier National Park Tomorrow.

We have only had time to detect for about an hour or so total. Once at a tot-lot in Wyoming, once at a rest stop/park, and once at an old park here in Montana.

At the tot-lot we found 2 nickels, 1 dime, and a junk ring.

At the rest stop we found nothing but pull-tabs.

At the old park we found 3 clad pennies and my mom found her first silver, a 1962 D dime at 3 inches!!

Nice finds! Enjoy your trip! I have a niece in Fairbanks, nephew in Ancorage & a sister in Kasilof. Alaska is beautiful!

Sounds like an ideal trip ! I have a friend outside Anchorage who gets a good amount of gold with his detector. He goes to Gaines Creek a lot but has dug gold many places over the years. Good luck, hit em all !! Steve in so az
