Default Large Photos?

I can add photos to my posts but for some reason they are very large. View my post http://metaldetectingforum.com/showt...23#post1229023 for an example. Does anyone know how to make them smaller?

It's because you're linking from an outside source. You'd have to actually physically re-size the photos for them to appear smaller. I see you used Photobucket. I'm pretty sure you can re-size your photos with their web-based software.

Using Photobucket was the only way I learned a while back. If I use the "insert image" link from this page, I assume that grabs right from my computer, do I have to resize first doing it that way?

No, the insert image asks you to enter a URL, which would be your IMG code from Photobucket.

To upload directly from your PC, you scroll down further and there is a "Manage Attachments" button, you can upload there. If your pictures don't meet the requirements they may be rejected. On some photos however the system does seem to scale them down.

If you're using a newer Windows machine, you can just open your photo in Microsoft Picture Manager, choose Edit and then re-size to large web.. should be perfect for the forums.

Thank you for the tips. I could not figure out how to resize on my computer, but figured out how on my phone. It's the Droid X and takes an 8 megapixel photo but allows me to resize it down. The last photo I added I dropped down to 3 and I could probably go even smaller but it did fit the post better. I have seen your username on the site before but never really thought about it until today. Very clever. Out of curiousity, how did you come up with that?
