Normally I break everything down after a beach hunt and rinse it all off in fresh water.
The last couple of outings I have just removed the clevis rod with coil attached and then rinsed everything off and now I find the center rod and s rod are fused together and do not budge... How do I get them apart? __________________ |

ouch that's really troublesome. had this problem before - only thing i could do was to try to keep twisting it so that they come apart. sand can do that sometimes.

Run them under hot water in the bath tub while trying to twist them apart....most likely full of sand. You should wash and take apart after every hunt.

Happened to me once too. I got two pair of channel locks and put a terry cloth rag on the shafts, then grip and twist, little by little it loosened up without hurting the shaft.

What do you use to un-stick things? Oil. WD 40 will work fine. Spray it or soak it for a while. It will work. After soaking it with the coil off, take a phillips screwdriver shaft and put it through the coil bolt hole and gently twist.

Would twisting it and pulling on it at the same time under hot water really be good for his shaft? TOM, what are you thinking?
