I managed to get in a hunt on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday over the holiday weekend. Fridays hunt was a short 45min or so between work and sundown. With such a short time to hunt I decided to hit a Baseball field around the corner from my work. I figured with the misty cool weather no one would be there. I was right. I did a quick search hunt, walking and swinging faster then usual to cover more ground and "case the joint" to see if it was worth coming back. I got the usual clad and 1 very nice dime signal in the center of the outfield. Dug it and out popped a ball of roots and dirt with a little glint of silver sticking out. Daylight was fading fast so I just popped it in the box and kept swinging. When I washed it up I discovered a 925 ring! A little beat up but I'll take it.
On Saturday I got out for about 4 hours or so. I decided to go to a new park and try my luck there. I hit the Tot lot for a little while and found very little. I did find the only Wheat of the day there, a 1950 in toasted shape. Next I moved to a corner of the field with some old trees and snooped around near a bench. After a couple bottle caps and pennys I got a signal I will never forget. Not because it was anything mind blowing but because I KNEW it was silver. After a year with my machine I am at the point where I recognize that sweet, sharp, tight beep a silver dime makes. Numbers were 83-84 and 1 time it hit 85. After a bit of fighting with roots I had a 58D Roosevelt in my hand. I also got an Indian from the field but the front is completely gone so no date off that.So now I have a streak going! 2 hunts, 2 silvers. So of course I had to get out Sunday as well. I had to work so it was another short hunt before sundown. Back to the ball field. Too many people there so I went to a little hill next to the field and started walking up and down the slope. Six or seven coins and a little trash in I got an interesting signal. High tone, crisp loud but the numbers were low at 68-70. Very clean steady signal so I dug it. Out popped this chunk of bling! ![]() When it was almost dark I got a very similar signal. No gold this time but it was a neat token. For me it was a great weekend of detecting and the Luck O The Irish was with me. Silver or Gold 3 hunts in a row! I wonder if I can keep the streak alive? ![]() Thanks for looking and I hope all your hunts are as fun and productive. Hunt Happy! Plug Martian __________________ |

Thanks for the comments guys. I actually don't have a scale to weigh it with as I never expected to find anything worth weighing. I will try and see about getting something this weekend and I will let y'all know.
