Smile 2 quick beach hunts. Japan

Managed to get out for two quick hunts over the last few weeks. Some more silver, plenty of junk and rubbish as well. Weather is slowly warming up here, which is nice.

Here are the pics. As always, thank you for looking

Nice! I've been to the Daibutsu in Nara. It is impressive!!! The largest wooden Buddha (bronze gilt) in the world (approximately 15 meters tall)! Amazing, specially if one considers that it was originally built in 752 AD !!!

Over the centuries, the statue has been damaged in various battles, but has always been restored afterward. The body of the statue was reconstructed in 1185, and the 5.3-meter-high head was rebuilt in 1692.

The Tōdai-ji Temple that houses it is quite impressive as well. The temple building itself is the largest existing wooden structure in the world. The present temple building was reconstructed in the middle of the Edo Era (1603-1867). It is 57 meters wide, 50 meters deep, and 48 meters tall. It is an imposing structure when you see it close at hand. But it is only two-thirds the original size.

It'd be a shame if you leave Japan and never visit Nara, the ancient most imperial city. Nara park is my favorite must see place in Japan. If you have any little ones, they'll enjoy feeding the deer in the park. Great place for a day trip.
