I was putting some buttons through the electrolysis today and one was a keeper. These buttons were crusty and rusted up you couldn't see a thing but some of the buttons I pickked out looked to be nice ones and thought well since they are so messed up why not put them throught electrolysis and see if anything poped up. Well one did its a one piece Eagle I button, unlike the ones I find with the eagle facing left (facing toward it) this one is facing right with arrows in right talon with a little research I found one similar to mine and was dated 1830-1840. The back looks to say waterburry but I'm not to sure tho. But I'm happy I put this one in electrolysis because I would of never known

Very nice buttons, looks like an infantry officer button in there.

talk about crusty! i'ts well that electrolysis helped! Pretty cool buttons there, my friend!
i've not found any real old buttons yet, but I dug up one the other day at an old home site (50-60 yrs) that was still attached to the fabric! Looked to be part of a heavy trenchcoat of some kind. Congrats! __________________ |
