Default Newbies first find!

Ive had probably the worst 3 days in a row ever, so to try and calm myself before killing something i decided to hit the yard with my detector. For Christmas my wife bought me a treasure cove tc-3020. I have never detected before but always wanted too...anyways i went out in the yard to kill some time and after about 45 minutes i finally got a hit! It isnt much, but a 1959 penny is a good start and really helped cheer me up!

I'm new to the hobby too and have mostly done digging in my yard. I've pulled about 2.00 in change from a small patch of grass that connects the driveway to the house where I think people must have been dropping coins since the 60's. Also found a lot on the driver's side of the driveway.

Detecting is great therapy. I suspect my blood pressure drops 10 points when I get in the "TONE ZONE".

Keep on swinging I still go in my yard thinking there has to be something old since my house was built around 1870 not much on coins but every once in a while I will pull up something like kids puter watch cases and a brass badge from the rail road and dug a silver class ring that was 50 years old just keep digging maybe i might pull a silver one day
