man shot for steeling bus

any see that a man stole a bus and the cops shot him three times when he was unarmed...there should be a law for cops about shooting people untill they know for sure that the person is armed

oh yea if anyone breaks into my house they are for sure getting shot i probably wont kill him unless he has a gun he is as good as dead just might unload the clip in his knee caps so he can go to prison for a long time

Cops aren't psychic, the have no way of positively knowing a criminal is armed, or not. We only get on shot at life, why gamble yours on a crook, who could careless about yours?

The police should offer a single chance for surrender, then start shooting. And get rid of those damn taser, use a real gun. Police get too little respect for what they do for us anyway. A criminal that gets away with it once, will be right back out for more. Most that get out of prison, can't wait to get back into the game either.

Only problem with this shooting, is the cop needs hit the practice range more often. People are too willing to commit these crimes, because they know there is very little chance of facing any serious consequences. Personally, I think on the third conviction, for anything, misdemeanor, felony, juvenile, adult, should have a mandatory minimum of 10 years, every day of it, on top of what ever they did. Need to get rid of plea deals, and good behavior, they shouldn't be rewarded, they need to work for their freedom.

I agree with working for their freedom. The biggest problem with our system is that prisons are now serving as gang and psychopath factories.
They need to be separated out, worked hard 6 days a week, and by the end of the day not have the energy to deal with anything else. No one needs a gang if the people they need protection from are sleeping every minute they aren't working.

The guy rams a Police car, goes on a hour long getaway attempt, endangering scores of people and kept going after they took out the front tires. He refuses to get out of the bus when ordered to and reaches for something in spite of Police with weapons aimed at him. If you make a sudden move no cop is going to wait. It's him or you, so it's you. He's lucky to be alive.

The bus is worse than a bullet. A bullet weights a couple of grams, a bus weights a couple of tons. A bus is Far more damage to human life than one round.

Why did the OP want to start this thread by suggesting the police officers did something wrong, or should have to determine if he has a weapon first? Didn't tell us the whole story. Maybe the OP could suggest how they should have dealt with him given the above information. I've been a patrol officer for 23 years and a SRT(swat) officer for 16 of those. Please tell us how to do our unappreciated job.
