MD in Ecuador?

Has anyone ever Been MD in Ecuador?
I been doing some research and it has A very rich history.Also from what I read Lots of gold in the river's and streams.I came across a guy offering guided tours to Ecuador to hunt relics and nugget shooting.I was wondering what you guys think about it and would you ever do something like that?

I'm heading to Ecuador in Sept 2012 and taking my Garrett AT Gold and Infinium. Apparently MDs are few and far between.
