About 50 years ago, when I was young, I had those books that you use to collect coins (quarters, nickels, dimes, pennies) Pictures are below. My parents died about 6 years ago, and had kept them all that time. I had forgotten completely about them, and stuck them in my safe. Saw them today, and was wondering what they are selling for. All are pre-64, and have like 100 quarters, around 70 dimes, Some buffalo nickels, etc. They have no real emotional or sentimental value to me, and although I love metal detecting for the sake of the hobby, I am not a coin collector. Trying to figure out if I sold them what their approximate value is, where to sell, etc. Any thoughts?? Thanks

Right now silver buyers are paying about 23 times face value.

Most silver unless it is a key date is only worth the silver content/melt value. A good web site to determine that value is www.coinmelt.com If you can get ahold of a copy of the coin "Redbook" you can lookup the various date coins you have to determine their approx. value. You for sure wouldn't want to melt a key date coin. As far as where to sell them that's a good ??. Ebay will probably get you the most money but their fees are high. I think there are enough coin people on this site that if you list them in the classifieds you could probably sell them fairly fast and no fees. Silver is really on a run the last few days so maybe wait a bit but that's just my 2 cents. Hope this helps and good luck.

here is a website to show what they are worth in melt value.
http://www.coinflation.com/ You will not get that from a dealer, but you may get that or more on ebay (after fees) or Craigslist. If it were me, I wouldn't sell. That is a very nice collection. __________________ |
