Not finding anything like that searching under skate key images. This is fairly old. The site did have a school on it in 1940s. A friend said he thought it might be a wrench used to hold something during welding. I thought at first it was a latch, but the star shape hole doesn't seem right for a latch.

That looks really familiar for some reason...I'm thinking maybe part of a keyed lock. I'll keep searching though.

I know I keep thinking I've seen one of these before too! Its pointy on end and not cut like a key though I had considered it might be some sort of key. I did find a key near it which looked like fairly old design. I will post that pic just so you can see. Thanks for looking for me to identify this oddball. BTW- Its not been bent, its actually made that way.

The key I found a few feet from the mystery object. Just posting because I thought it was interesting. I think the key is fairly old, though not antique.

Antique skates had star shaped nuts? I'm pretty sure those are a newer development. But like others, I HAVE seen that before....somewhere.
